Sodium bentonite sandwiched between geotextiles — a self-healing clay barrier.
GCL combines sodium bentonite with woven and nonwoven geotextiles through needle-punching. On hydration it forms a gel-type waterproofing layer with permeability as low as 5.0×10⁻¹¹ m/s, ideal for landfills, artificial lakes and underground structures.
